Re-Think this String!
With all the new strings being offered, it is easy to forget about strings that have served us well and are very good!
One such string is Head FXP.
If you are wondering why, take a look at the tensile strength—160.4 pounds. Then look at the elasticity, which is the nice grouping in the stress/strain range!
After that, we can see the linearity is pretty good from 50 pounds to UTS, which relates to consistency.
This string is good, and we will continue to use it and probably increase its use in applications that want a great feel and durability.

Hello John. Thanks for the info. I tried the Gosen AK Pro CX, and saw that my shots were often inaccurate and unpredictable. Therefore, I did not like it and switched it out. I did not try the Gosen AK Pro that you mentioned, as it would have to be shipped from Japanese sellers at around $40 for one set. Therefore, I searched for a while on the Internet, and found some discontinued Head FXP sets. I tried Head FXP, and found this string to play with a higher level of accuracy and predictability compared to the Gosen AK Pro CX. Thanks for your analysis and data above on this string, as this string is great to play with and can help me develop more skills!
Thanks for letting us know, Alan! It is too bad that the emphasis on polyester has eliminated a bunch of good strings from the market.
Head has discontinued this string. Do you recommend any similar strings to this?

Alan, we use Gosen AK Pro, also made in Japan, as well as the FXP. You may want to give it a try and let us know what you think.
